Wenxian is located about 70 km North West of Zhengzhou（the capital of Henan province），on the left bank of the Yellow River（Huanghe）. By bus it takes only one hour ride from the outskirts of Zhengzhou to reach the county seat of Wenxian. After following the motorway linking up Zhengzhou to Luoyang，one has to turn right north into a broad modern road，crossing the Yellow River on large bridge，then entering the countryside of Wenxian. Actually two newly built main roads cross the county，from South to North（towards Bo’ai and Jiaozuo），and East（towards Wuzhi）to West（towards Mengzhou）.
